Ban on Trans Fats
A big surprise, New York passed a ban on trans fats. An impact of the ban prohibiting the use of trans fats for all restaurants and fast food outlets. And of course it affected many other business establishments. Some parts of Japan are also considering not to use oils containing trans fats. Since this news has been circulating around the world, the word "Trans Fats" is becoming a household name.
Trans fat is the common name for unsaturated fat with trans isomer fatty acid. Trans fats are either monounsaturated or polyunsaturated. Also see article "Trans Fatty Acids: What You Should Know".
I myself did not know about trans fats until some news came to my desk several years back. Surprisingly, I have been eating foods containing trans fats since I was born for over 63 years. When I was a small boy, I was so skinny due to lack of food, especially during WWII. I was given jelly-ball oil extracted from whale as supplements for nearly 6 years. Yes, it was a jelly ball of trans fats.
Most trans fats consumed today are industrially created by partially hydrogenating plant oils. According to a history book I read, these fats have a higher melting point making it attractive for baking, and extending shelf life for finished products.
Unlike other dietary fats, trans fats are neither required nor beneficial for health. Eating trans fats increases the risk of coronary heart disease. For these reasons, health authorities worldwide recommend that consumption of trans fat be reduced to trace amounts. Trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils are generally considered to be more of a health risk than those occurring naturally. Cow's milk, meat, and mother's milk contains naturally occurring trans fats, although it is in small quantities.
We cannot stop the use of trans fats especially in Japan, China, many parts of Asian countries, African countries as well as European countries, notably in the fast food outlets and snack kiosks in short years. It may take another ten years or more to eliminate trans fatty oils from our cooking.
Eating trans fats increases cholesterol and the risk of coronary heart disease. According to some medical researchers, most modern heart-related diseases may be caused by trans fats. Yes, it may be very true according to the world health statistics. Well, what shall we do then?
You do not need to worry, there must be an answer to it.
My longtime staffs in my company, my brothers and their families, my family, and some of my friends never suffer from heart-related diseases, especially from coronary heart disease. Our cholesterol contents in the blood is OK, thus there's no high blood pressure. What is the secret behind the answer?
The answer is definitely diet. Second answer is a simple exercise. As you know, many medicines, diet, and exercise, takes time before they'll become effective in maintaining good health. Nothing can be done overnight. However, if you do not follow because of laziness, then you never can be healthy and your life will be short.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (Chinese herbs) may be one of the best so far, as I believe. Diet therapy follows. But they will take about 6 months before it becomes effective. It is one reason that many of you failed to obtain good result.

Please be noted that this exercise is not a permanent cure for all. It is just a simple and immediate remedy for some diseases.
To have a long lasting cure, you must have a good diet for lifetime. Long lasting cure for heart ailments especially for combatting trans fats is to maintain good diet. One good solution is to take two tablespoons of vinegar a day. You can apply any method or manner just to consume two tablespoons of vinegar every day. My family as well as my brothers including myself has been doing this for nearly 20 years now. For this reason probably, none of us suffer from heart ailments. I believe that these two are a must to all of us. Of course, critics and antagonists are not included to follow these.
Aside from the above, we consume dried kelp, yellow beans, jute, taro, bilimbi, avocado, sardines—foods that lower cholesterol in the blood, every day.
